Also topics such as the Magdalena Hotel, the St. Augustine Cathedral in Tucson, Guacamole's Restaurant, and Hang Um High Tree.

BIOGRAPHY:

Bob Sheridan "let the camera do his talking" by photographing Las Cruces and Southern New Mexico for out-of-town family. He wanted to show them what Las Cruces looked like. Bob lived in Las Cruces from 1991-1994, and from June 1996-Dec 2000, and most of the collection is of the area during this time period. He photographed mostly buildings and landscapes, not people, and tried not to duplicate what other photographers were doing. A Canon Rebel Camera was used.

Bob Sheridan was a volunteer at IHSF for several months in 2000 prior to returning to CA. He also volunteered for the Branigan Cultural Center, photographing their exhibits, openings, etc. Much of his photography and his negatives are also housed there.

Major Subjects: The Martinez Ranch, owned by Richard Martinez, located between Las Cruces and Hatch. Includes his rodeo arena.

County Fairgrounds, 1992 - 1994, including car racing--sprint, stock and jalopies. Includes driver Gary Bradley, the top sprint car driver who owns a tow truck and junk parts service.
