DONOR:

Patty Newman

SIZE:

24 cubic feet

SCOPE & CONTENT:

Patty Newman wrote numerous articles and books regarding contemporary politics in the United States during the latter half of the twentieth century. Focusing on a broad scope of topics, this collection provides a conservative perspective of many of the liberal causes during the period. Perhaps its greatest strength derives from the focus upon the "Chicano Movement" during the 1960s and 1970s. This research, done with the aid of Genevieve Coonly (see STM collection), culminated in the book Do It Up Brown , published by Viewpoint Books (Ted Loeffler's publishing house).

BIOGRAPHY:

Patty Newman worked for many years for Ted Loeffler on the staff of World Research, Inc. (See WRI collection), and helped coordinate that organization's Campus Studies Institute (CSI). Patty served on WRI's board of directors. Her contacts included John Rees (Information Digest), Ted Loeffler (WRI), and Genevieve Coonly (St.Michael the Archangel Foundation).
