BIOGRAPHY:

Dr. Eugene Martin is a retired geography professor from the University of Oregon, and a former associate of Dr. Cotton Mather. His collections include slides, papers, maps and books related to his career. He was a contributing editor to the Atlas of Oregon.

Las Hurdes was a Frenchman, a geographer, with interests in art, literature, 18th century novels, etc. The main street in N. Madrid was named for him.
