SCOPE & CONTENT:

The Sermons of the Rev. Mr. J.H. Lee, an Episcopal priest, 1862-1909, were acquired by Dr. Evan Davies in Manhattan , Kansas in 1955. They were donated to IHSF in 1989. These sermons are considered the catalyst that launched IHSF. Dr. Davies discovered and retrieved these sermons from a priest who was disposing of them in an effort to make room for "book-of-the-month" items.

The sermon given at the time of President Lincoln's death is of great historical significance, as are many others reflecting issues of that time period.
