Died: August 4, 2001, age 90, Fort Bliss National Cemetery

Ralph was an avid photographer and dedicated to documenting the city of El Paso TX as well as his travels throughout the world. His collection consists of some 65,000 slides, dating from the 1950s. He retired from the US Army in 1964 after more than 21 years of military service. Even before retirement, in 1963, Sunland Park NM presented him with a Photography Award Trophy. He was a member of the Photographic Society of America, the El Paso Color Camera Club, and a Charter member of the El Paso County Historical Society, among many other local groups. He is credited with his picture of the exterior of the J. F. Williams House (a Trost-designed house) in the Heritage Homes of El Paso, as well as his images in Photographing the Frontier.
